Phil Platt Lead Vocal/Rhythm Guitar.

Phil is the founder member of "Still Stones" he is the oldest and probably the craziest, however, considering the other band members this could be subject to debate!

Phil has been playing in bands all of his adult life the first one being "Here and Now" with Rod Mayall brother of legendary blues man John Mayall, later Phil played around the UK club circuit in various duos, trios and bands most notably being New Faces winners "Art Nouveau" and "Hedge hoppers Anonymous" where he replaced the original singers.

After touring for a brief 'spell' (sic) as a magicians roadie for Tiswas's Clive Webb (like yer do) Phil decided to put his own bands together in the future and these came in the shape of "Captain Video" and "One Way Street" who both rode on the 70's glam wagon and extensively toured the UK and Europe.

All changed in 1980 when Phil created his own band "The Ride Band" which differed greatly from previous bands because all the Rides material was penned by Phil, the Ride lasted for 11 years and through these years featured many fantastic NW musicians, Ironically two of these ex "Riders" have teamed up with Phil to form "Still Stones" (Dave Smylie early 1980's and Steve Tansley 1990's) during these years Phil also toured and recorded with Belfast punk band "Victim".

After the demise of The Ride" Phil ventured into other areas of the music business and from mid nineties to 2012 owned an ran 4 commercial recording studios "Bootleg Studios", "RMS Studios", "Studio Studios" and "The New Underground" Phil has also worked with Andy MacPherson at "Revolution Studios" and had the fortune to be assistant engineer to Andy on projects such as "The Who" (Remixes) "Saxon" album "Dogs of War" and many, many more.

All of the latter mayhem aside Phil now concentrates all his energy solely on "Still Stones" and has done so now for the last seven years, Phil explains "It's only rock 'n roll....but I like it" :-)
